BARDASHT is a non-profitable, non-governmental organization registered under Social Welfare Agencies Ordinance of 1961. We work towards building resilient society & communities through effective networking, knowledge sharing, and working together to cope with challenges posed by nature or humans.

Activities

Siachen

BARDASHT has been on the forefront of minority right issues. Its leadership had a very active role in the Senate and as a civil society activist for safeguarding minority rights, this was particularly so in the case of murdered minor maidservant Shazia Masih in 2010 when the most deplorable violation against the minority girl child was strongly advocated on the floor of the House by Nilofar Bakhtiar and was followed by several visits by its members to minority localites in Lahore and Rawalpindi, forming structured linkages with the weak and vulnerable. Similar efforts were made for rehabilitation of minority communities in Hyderabad, Badin and Sanghar during and after the floods where food support and financial assistance was provided to the affectees, the support linkage between BARDASHT members and minority communities continues. BARDASHT provided legal aid to minority women through local SBB centers. Several interactive sessions for promotion of inter faith harmony with minority members were organized by BARDASHT in 2011-2012 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
