Our Story

About BARDASHT PAKISTAN

BARDASHT is a non-profitable, non-governmental organization registered under Social Welfare Agencies Ordinance of 1961. The Head Office is based in Islamabad whereas it has branch offices in Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Gilgit.

BARDASHT, under the strong leadership of former Minister Senator Nilofar Bakhtiar, is committed to promoting peace and non-violence in society through awareness and advocacy. It helps the underserved through strategic interventions in health, education and skill development.

BARDASHT also intervenes in situations of disasters and emergencies, with focus on sustainable development. BARDASHT came into existence on the 3rd of November, 2007. It was formed amongst a modest group of like-minded friends and well-wishers from the civil society, who volunteered themselves, their precious time and resources in contributing to peace building and tolerance. Ever since, BARDASHT has been working on all human and gender related issues that needed attention and voice.

Peace, Human Rights & Social Harmony

We promote peace, human rights, tolerance, and interfaith harmony by fostering dialogue, raising awareness, and encouraging mutual respect among diverse communities.

Protection of Vulnerable Communities

We advocate for and protect the rights of marginalized groups, including women, children, minorities, and individuals affected by violence, discrimination, and social exclusion.

Education & Youth Development

We empower young people through education, leadership development, skills training, and values-based learning that promotes peace, civic responsibility, and social cohesion.

Community Empowerment & Sustainable Livelihoods

We support individuals and communities through vocational training, livelihood programs, and capacity-building initiatives that promote self-reliance and long-term development.

Health & Psychosocial Well-being

We facilitate access to healthcare services, medical assistance, and psychological support for individuals facing illness, trauma, violence, and other life challenges.

Humanitarian Relief & Rehabilitation

We provide emergency assistance, recovery support, and rehabilitation services to individuals and communities affected by natural disasters, conflict, and humanitarian crises.

Environmental Responsibility

We promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices by educating communities about hygiene, pollution prevention, climate change, and environmental conservation.

We work to create safe, inclusive, and resilient communities where every individual can live with dignity, security, equal opportunity, and respect.
